When God Breaks Through Pain

By November 14, 2016Uncategorized

Twenty years ago, we had Johnny Cash, Bob Hope and Steve Jobs. Now we have no Cash, no Hope and no Jobs. “Lord, please don’t let Kevin Bacon die. Amen.”

Perhaps you’ve lost your hope or are strapped for cash…maybe even got fired from your job. You may not have even had your bacon this morning for breakfast. #TheStruggleIsReal. #TheStruggleIsReal…BUT SO IS GOD. Life is tough. But God is tougher. So, what do you do when you are broken?

The maxim is true: Life is like a glow stick; sometimes you’ve got to break before you shine.

Matthew 5:5 teaches as much. In this passage, Jesus says, “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the Earth.” The word for meek in Greek is praus. It is the word used of a powerful stallion that has been broken and learns to respond to the rein of its rider. So too, you are Too Blessed To Be Stressed: Because when life breaks you, you learn to respond to the Reign of the King.

What you think is your breakdown, God transforms into your breakthrough.

You might be at your rope’s end, but you’re not at your hope’s end. He is the God of Hope (Romans 15:13). So, like the stallion, the glow stick and the praus – Brokenness always precedes blessing. Therefore, as the Scripture says, let us worship in spirit and truth and bless the Lord our God, because we are too blessed to be stressed!
